Car racing is one of the world’s most watched televised sports. As technology has improved over the years, races are getting faster and consequently more dangerous. Time is everything in racing and every 10th of a second counts. The equipment and materials used within the cars must serve two purposes – to be as lightweight and durable as possible, and to ensure the drivers are kept safe. Dyneema® fiber's lightness and super strength make it the perfect ingredient for anything from seat belts to airbags, in these high-speed, high-risk racing events.

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for the comment, and you are absolutely right. Pit crews can only change tyres now, refuelling was banned sometime in the 2010 season I believe.

Are you a big F1 fan? Any other interesting facts worth sharing?
